it's not just make-believe.
Acting Out is a safe, creative space for kids of all ages to explore the art of acting on camera. Through scene & character study, improvisation and play, students evolve their emotional vocabularies, learn empathy and develop a project-based sense of teamwork. All while demystifying "Hollywood" and the marketing media they are bombarded with daily.
Owner/director, Darcy Rose, brings 12 years of professional acting experience in film, television and commercials to her programs at Acting Out. In a day and age when everyone has access to a camcorder and an imagination, the mission of AONY is to equip children with the capacity to create their own projects, explore their own stories, and make fabulous memories with friends while doing so.

The best camp H has ever been to. It wasn't simply about the acting, it was about belonging, and acceptance for who each child is. Acting Out NY is one of Ithaca's finest programs available for kids. Darcy Rose is a top-notch teacher and performer, and is a perfect mentor and role model for every participant. My kids absolutely adore her (and so do I!) The hands-on experience with professional acting is unbeatable, and the kids have so much fun they don't even realize how much they are learning in the process!
